Polecat Music Studios, formed by Sara Landeau in 2003, began as a place that provided GUITAR Lessons for GIRLS & WOMEN. It has since branched out to offer private lessons in BASS GUITAR, PIANO, and DRUMS, as well as group GUITAR classes. It started because there were so many girls and women interested in learning to play loud music, but very few female guitar and drum teachers. The goal was to create exactly the type of school she always wanted to go to. The mission is simple: to provide an ENCOURAGING and SELF EMPOWERING environment for all WOMEN & GIRL rock music students. This is not an anti-male or female exclusive studio, but an ALTERNATIVE to what’s currently out there (mainly, rock schools that coddle aspiring boy players....or other unpleasant learning environments...). Polecat Studios would like to break the "Guitar Center rock-god clichés," and offer a fun, smart place to do this. Come join!

Guitarist of the Week, 8th grader Webb, a longtime student, plays a Chet Atkins song and Gene Vincent's "Race With the Devil." She is playing ALL the lead parts. I'm only backing her up with acoustic (rhythm) guitar on the Gene Vincent song. Wow!
